A Memorial Service for Eloise Dixon will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alma, Nebraska with Pastor Seong Lee officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Hendley Cemetery in Hendley, Nebraska.

Eloise (Tubridy) Dixon, 84 years of age, of Alma, passed away, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma. Eloise was born on the farm near Stamford, Nebraska on March 14, 1937, the youngest of five children, born to Forest and Lavina (Kauk) Tubridy. She received her education from Stamford Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1956.

Eloise was united in marriage to Leroy Lewis Dixon, they lived southwest of Hendley, where Eloise and Leroy farmed. The couple then began to make their home Alma in 2007. Eloise worked at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska for a number of years. On March 23, 2014, Eloise was preceded in death by Leroy.

Eloise enjoyed riding horseback while moving cattle on the farm or just for pleasure. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband and parents, Eloise was preceded in death by: her brother, Donald Tubridy; two sisters: Anna Mae Simpson and her husband, Melvin; and Elizabeth Scott; three sisters-in-law: Virginia Marble and her husband, Ronald; Louise June Dixon; and Liane Dixon; three brothers-in-law, Edwin Dixon and his wife, Rose; Richard Stickney: and Arlo Youngquist.

Eloise is survived by, her sister, Mary Ellen Youngquist of Papillion, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Virgil Dixon of Alma; sister-in-law, Jane Stickney of Omaha, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

There will be no memorial book signing or visitation as the family is honoring Eloise’s wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Eloise’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
