FREDA E. CORDER

Freda Corder, age 96, of Elwood, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Emerald Nursing Home in Cozad.

Freda Elizabeth Corder, the daughter of James and Freda (Weber) Weese, was born at Enid, Oklahoma, on May 6, 1929, and passed away at Cozad, Nebraska, on November 3, 2025, at the age of 96.

Freda grew up in Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school.

Freda was united in marriage to John ‘Jack’ Thomas Corder, Jr. on March 19, 1948 at Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Elwood, where they farmed and raised their five children. Freda raised the family, then went to work at the Pamida Store for several years. They had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, before Jack passed away on June 6, 2018.

Freda enjoyed spending time with her family, doing puzzles, needlepoint and watching Husker Athletics.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; sons, Michael Corder and John Corder; daughter, Jacalyne Corder; two grandsons, Nathan & Christopher and two great-grandchildren, Natasha and Jacob Price.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Robert (JoAnna) Corder of Moundridge, Kansas and Eugene (Melanie) Corder of Elwood; sister-in-law, Starla Corder of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 6th at the Aurora Cemetery. Rev. Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside at Higby-Mc-Quiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.
