GAYLE J. TINES

Gayle J. Tines passed away August 17, 2023 in Gretna, Nebraska at the age of 85 years. He was born November 22, 1937 in Danbury, Nebraska.

Gayle is preceded in death by his parents, Ore and Elizabeth Fisher; adopted mother Zolona Tines; son John Tines; and daughter-in-law Connie Tines.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Tines; children Mick Tines and Lisa (Greg) Hullinger; grandchildren Crista (Jason) Murrish, Jamie Tines, John Patrick (Diane) Tines, Michael Hlavinka, Andrew Hullinger, and Madison Hullinger; great-grandchildren Rylee, Colton, Kyler, and Carter; brothers Raymond (Patsy) Fisher, Denny (Susan) Pelz, and Larry (Charlotte) Fisher; sister Jean (Ed †) Sughroue; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Gayle enlisted in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958. He later transferred into the Navy Reserves from 1958 to 1961. He started working for the US Postal Office in 1966 until he retired in 1996. He was also a driver for the Eppley Airfield and didn’t fully retire from that until two years ago. After retiring he dedicated his time to take care of his wife at home. Gayle got his Associates degree in science from McCook Community College.

Gayle loved to attend his great-grandchildren’s sports games even when sick. He loved each and everyone with all his heart. He was always there for them. He will be greatly missed by his family.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2023 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 815 D Street, Indianola, NE. Interment at St. Catherine Indianola Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Gayle would like casual attire to be worn at his funeral.
