JAMES M. TRAVER
James Michael Traver, of Plattsmouth, NE, passed away at his home on March 28, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on September 18, 1953, to Alvin Leo and Sally Traver.
Jim served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1979. He married Barbara Victoria (Vickie) Breinig in April of 1982. To this union four children were born. Jim was a dedicated and hardworking man who loved his career as an electrician at Kellogg’s in Omaha until he retired in 2017 when he suffered the first of many strokes.
Jim is survived by his wife Vickie, his four children, three sisters, four brothers, brothers-in-law Steve (Ruth) Breinig, Scott (Pam) Breinig and sister-in-law Wendy (Mike) Pruitt, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, F. Duane and Barbara Breinig; his grandson, Anthony; two brothers and his stepmother.
A public viewing was held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, with the family present. Due to the restrictions and ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, masks were required. Graveside services will be held privately, at the Omaha National Cemetery on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
