KENT A. BROCKMEIER
Kent A. Brockmeier of Eustis passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Elwood Care Center at the age of 82.
Kent was born on January 16, 1944 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Albert and Esther (Koch) Brockmeier. Kent lived a full and meaningful life as a hardworking farmer and rancher.
He loved taking care of his cattle and had a great interest in attending bull sales.
Kent attended Maple Grove country school, just down the road from the family farm. He graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1962. After high school, Kent joined the U.S. Army Reserve, serving from 1964 to 1970.
On September 3, 1967, Kent married Kay Artz.
Together, they were blessed with three children: Bryant, Craig, and Jodi. Family was an important part of Kent’s life, and he cherished his time with them.
Kent enjoyed many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He had a love for all sports, especially Husker football and volleyball. From an early age, Kent was devoted to the family farm, from the crops he grew to the cattle he raised. Throughout the years, Kent had many a “man’s best friend,” that he cherished, with Ace being his special four-legged companion. Kent was known for a big smile, and twinkle in his eye, and the best laugh ever. He was quick to make a friend with people young and old, and those friends lasted a lifetime. Kent loved a social gathering where he could be with friends and neighbors.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was a long-time member of the Eustis Lions Club and enjoyed helping with events such as the demolition derby, Wurst Tag and the Haydays Parade. He loved having a good time serving a great cause.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents; sister in law, Patty Brockmeier and brother in law, Glenn Artz.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Brockmeier of Eustis; sons, Bryant (Amanda) Brockmeier of Eustis and Craig (Cathy) Brockmeier of Grand Island; daughter, Jodi (Mike) Azevedo of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Evan (Jennifer) Brockmeier, Reid Brockmeier, Jennae Brockmeier, Lane (Autumn Rhoads) Baxter, Erin Brockmeier, Gage Brockmeier, Brooklyn Azevedo and William Azevedo; great grandchildren, Everleigh and Jovie Brockmeier; brothers, Don (Judy) Brockmeier of Eustis, Bruce Brockmeier of Eustis; sister in law, Nancy (Steve) Israel, sister-in-law Roberta Artz; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorials are suggested to Eustis Fire & Rescue or Eustis Lions Club. Funeral Service were held Monday, April 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating. Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service time. Burial followed in East Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
