LARRY L. DIETZ
A Graveside Service for Larry L. Dietz were held on July 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Wes Holen officiating.
Larry Lee Dietz, 82 years of age, of Oxford, died on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at his home in Oxford. Larry was born on July 20, 1938, in Oxford, one of five children, born to William and Maxine (Batt) Dietz. He received his education from Mascot Country School, through the 8 th grade.
On November 5, 1957, Larry was united in marriage to Fern Park in Old Mexico and to this union, five children were born: Jimmy, Edward, Ricky, Steven, and Sharyl. The family made their home in many communities as Larry worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, including: Greeley, Colorado and Brighton, Colorado. Following 38 years with Burlington Northern Railroad, Larry retired and, the couple began to make their home back in Oxford.
Larry enjoyed watching FOX News and Two and a Half Men; camping and fishing with his grandkids and he was a member of the “Turtle Club”.
Larry was preceded in death by: his parents; three sons: Steven Dietz; Rick Dietz; and Ed Dietz; his daughter, Sharyl Louise Mondt; a brother, Norman Dietz; step-father, Flower “Dale” Phillips; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Vern and Marjorie (Stump) Park; and two brothers-in-law: James Douglas “Doug” Park; and Roy Johnson.
Larry leaves to mourn his passing; his son, Jimmy Dietz and his wife, Tina of Oxford; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother: Richard Dietz and his wife, Alice of Atlanta, Nebraska; two sisters: Janice Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; and Judy Journey of Kearney, Nebraska; one brother-in-law: Jerry Park and his wife, Pam of Greeley, Colorado; sister-in-law: Gerry Park of Albuquerque, New Mexico; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Larry’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family.
