Loiette Lorraine Larabee

Loiette Lorraine Larabee 87, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023 with her loving husband of 67 years, Jared Larabee, by her bedside. She was born December 2, 1935 in Edison Nebraska. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Grayce Johnson and was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Johnson.

She is survived by her brother, Milan (Diane) Johnson, and sister LaCreta(Steve)Fisher, her children Ann(Keith) Preston, Kevin Larabee, Lisa Larabee, and Cindy(Doug)Marler.

She has six grandchildren Matthew (Mikala) Preston, Daniel(Emily) Preston, Andrew Preston, Erynne Larabee, Charlie (Emily)Larabee and Christopher Marler. She also has two great-grandchildren, Sophia Preston and Eliza Preston.

In 1957 she was married to Jared Larabee.

After many job transfers they moved to Lexington in 1975 and started attending St. John’s Lutheran Church. Her passion was music. She played the piano and the organ for many Sunday services, choir concerts and other events until she retired in 2018.

She was a beloved wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma.

We will miss her but find great comfort in knowing she is at peace.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at noon with services following at 1:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lexington, KY. Streaming services will be available at the site below. Inurnment will be at Camp Nelson following the service.
