Martin V. Wadle
Martin Virgil Wadle age 65 of Indianola, NE, passed away on May 7, 2021 in Loveland, Colorado at his sister’s home.
Martin was born on November 5, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Betty (Kennard) and Virgil Wadle. He attended East High and Des Moines Tech. He then went on to join the Marine Corp. where he was stationed in Hawaii and earned his GED. Martin lived in Des Moines and Longmont, Colorado, but has called Indianola, Nebraska home since 1996. Martin worked as a roofer in Colorado and owned Martin Roofing in Indianola, Nebraska; he was multi-talented in all fields of construction and home maintenance.
In 1976 he married Diane Galpin; to this union his daughter Kristi was born. In 1996, he married Vicki (Mannon) Wadle, and to this union his daughter Stevie was born.
Anyone who knew Martin knew he had a keen wit and was current on popular culture. He could quote scenes from old movies or songs and insert them into a conversation to lighten the mood or drive home a point. He was always willing to help any member of his community, no matter the need they had. His memories were held dear to him and he could recall much of his life in colorful details. He loved playing his guitar, listening to his jukebox, sorting through old records, doing crossword puzzles, and playing lottery tickets. You could frequently find him enjoying chicken fajitas and a cold Budweiser at El Puerto with his daughter Stevie and granddaughter Michaela. Martin was tender towards all creatures and he loved his family deeply.
Martin was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, father, Virgil, and his sister, Connie Butter.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristi (Ryan) Wilcutt of Des Moines, IA and Stevie Wadle (Gavyn Klein) of Indianola, NE. grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler Wilcutt of Des Moines, IA ; Michaela Holdcroft of McCook, NE. 4 bonus children: Denver (Teresa) Holdcroft of Indianola, NE; Edward (Jackie) Holdcroft of Wiggins, CO; Scott (Robin) Holdcroft of Bartley, NE, and Mindi Relaford of Culbertson, NE. 6 siblings: Karen (Shel) McClaury of Aurora, CO; Michael (Julie) Wadle of Centennial, CO; Patricia Utsler of Loveland, CO; Mark Wadle of Peru, IA; Morris Wadle of West Des Moines, IA; Jolene (Jim) McKenna of Erie, CO. Bonus grandchildren: Kenneth Holdcroft, of Culbertson, NE, Michael Holdcroft of McCook, NE, Nicholas Baker, of Colby, KS, Corrine, Zac, and Spencer Baker, all of McCook, NE, and Julia, Scott, and Travis Holdcroft, all of Bartley, NE.
Memorial Services will be at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE on Friday May 14, at 2 pm. A private family inurnment will take place at a future date.
