Nancy R. Aden, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, passed away at home surrounded by her family on June 2nd, 2023. She was born in McCook, Nebraska on June 28th, 1944 to Charles and Rachel (Meyers) Burke.

Nancy was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many throughout her life. She will be remembered as someone who cherished spending time with loved ones, cooking and gardening. Her passion for preparing food for family and friends was evident in the numerous spreads she generously laid out.

Nancy also enjoyed canning vegetables from her own garden and sharing them with others.

In addition to cooking and gardening, Nancy dedicated a number of years cleaning houses with her friends. She loved the holiday season, especially Christmas time when her son Darren would come from Omaha to help decorate the house.

Nancy loved spending time with her family and was always there for them when they needed her most. She took great pride in attending the various school activities of both her children and grandchildren. Nancy threw several Halloween parties over the years where she and daughter Anny would dress up in costumes. She especially adored watching her grandchildren grow up.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years Dwaine D. Aden of Gothenburg, Nebraska; two sons - Darren Aden (Bill Davis) of Omaha, and Brian Aden of Gothenburg, daughter Andrea Aden of Gothenburg; granddaughter Kaitlyn Aden; grandson Tyler Aden (Haley Juarez), both of Gothenburg; great-granddaughter Emory Aden; brother Larry (Joan) Burke of Elwood, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Rita Burke of Cambridge, Nebraska and Joyce (Doug) Schuldt of Grand Island.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rachel Burke, and her in laws Virgil and Elsena Aden.

Her brothers Rodney Burke, Charles B Burke, Robert Burke, sister Audrey Peden.

Sister-in-law Gloria Burke, brother-in-law Ed Peden, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the American Lutheran Church, 1512 Avenue G, Gothenburg, NE; Thursday, June 8, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at the American Lutheran Church, 1512 Avenue G, Gothenburg, NE; June 9, 2023 at 10:30 am with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.
