Private family services for Nova J. Loose will be held at a later date.

Nova Jo Loose, 66 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Nova was born in Holdrege on June 23, 1955, the eldest of seven children, born to LeRoy and Velma (Coakley) Loose. She received her education from Oxford Public School in Oxford, and graduated from Oxford High School, with the class of 1973. She pursued higher education and received a Degree in Nursing from Bryan Memorial School of Nursing in 1976.

Following her education, Nova started working at Fritzer Memorial Hospital in Oxford and worked there for 13 ½ years. She then worked for Phelps Memorial Health Center for 23 ½ years. Nova retired from the Good Samaritan Society - C.A. Mues Nursing Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska, after 2 ½ years.

She enjoyed doing many crafts, gardening, and canning. Nova was interested in the environment, in that she picked up aluminum cans and other trash, with her dog Petrie in tow. She volunteered for the museum in Oxford, and wrote a few letters to the editor.

Nova will be missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Loose; and brother, Randy Loose.

Nova is survived by her mother, Velma Loose of Holdrege; sisters: Dana Baxter and her husband, Bill; Mary Cooper and her husband, Bill; brothers: Dean Loose; Thomas Loose; and Steven Loose; niece, Crystal Loose and her son Kannon; nephews: Philip Wilbur and his wife, Teresa; and Dennis Richardson; along with other relatives and many friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing, the family is honoring Nova’s wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Nova’s honor, and kindly suggested to the Oxford Feline Friends.
