{ obituary } Loren Mooney

March 28, 1984 - April 15, 2023 Loren Alton Mooney, age 39 passed away at his home in Nipomo, California. He was born at Long Beach Memorial Hospital to Susan Locklair Mooney and Rockie Mooney. Loren attended Lampton Elementary, Glazier Elementary, Los Alisos Middle School, and graduated from El Camino High School in La Mirada, Class of 2002. He participated in Little League, soccer and Boy Scouts Troop 911, 533. He became an Eagle Scout in February 2002.

He worked at In-N-Out Burgers and a movie theater in Long Beach.

In Nipomo, he worked with his step brother Jaime laying floors, as well as landscaping; a bead and jewelry store and on military bases.

He spent one summer in Holbrook, Nebraska with his grandparents Nic and Leola Mooney. He and Chris Kruger worked for Clark Andrews pulling weeds and he got an old lawn mower from Bob Johnson which did not run. He finally got the lawnmower running, and rode in Holbrook Days Parade with Chris Kruger and his brother Matt.

They came in second place and won a blue ribbon and money.

Loren is survived by his mother, Susan Jewel (Jim Jewel); stepbrother Jamie and wife Alejandra Jewel and nephew JC Jewel of Nipomo, CA; father, Rockie Mooney; two brothers, Daniel Mooney and Nicholas Mooney; grandmother, Leola Mooney, all of Norwalk, CA; along with many aunts, uncles cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Locklair and Nic Mooney.

Viewing was held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 3-8 pm at Chapel of Memories in Norwalk. Retired Methodist Minister Abel Lara held a Memorial Service at 2 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Chapel of Memories, 12626 Woods Ave, Norwalk, CA 90650. Burial will be held at Arapahoe Cemetery in Nebraska.

Arrangements under the care of Lockenour Jones Mortuary, Cambridge, Nebraska.
