{ obituary } Norma J. Carroll
Norma Jemi Carroll, 91, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Loveland, CO. At that time, she left her niece Laurie and her husband David Hasenburg, niece Lisa and her husband Dan Green, and nephew Mark and his wife Jodi Carroll.
Born on February 3, 1931,and raised for 88 ears in Cambridge, NE, Norma grew up and lived in Cambridge until 2019Norma fully involved herself in Cambridge life- An avid sports fan, she never missed a Cambridge football, basketball, volleyball or baseball game, At one point, she dyed her hair orange to support her team! She also loved Nebraska football. Of course, red was her favorite color. Norma made daily trips downtown to visit her friends and neighbors in Cambridge. Many people called Norma friend.
When speaking with her family throughout her life, Norma always kept everyone up-to-date on the happenings of Cambridge and surrounding areas.
In 2019, due to the closure of the Cambridge nursing home, Norma moved to Loveland, CO. A spunky resident, Norma was beloved by all the staff and caregivers at Good Samaritan Loveland Village. Always dangerous with a walker, Norma brought smiles to the caregivers as she walked the facility wearing PPE during Covid-19 lockdown. She brought laughter with her apropos comments and oneliners regarding various life circumstances. Comments from staff to Norma’s family included “Norma is my favorite resident to take care of”; “Norma makes me smile.”; and “I will never forget Norma”.
Norma loved her family well, her parents Marcus and Nell, brother Frank, sister-in-law Marilyn and nieces and nephew. She loved her Cambridge family and friends, and brought joy to her Loveland, CO friends and caregivers-Norma lived well and loved well- As given to her from above, Norma finished the agenda for her life well. Norma will live forever in our hearts.
Her memory brings smiles, and she is greatly missed.
Memorial Service will be held at Lockenour- Jones Mortuaty in Cambridge, NE on Saturday April 15, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the afternoon (doors open at 2:30 pm). Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm at Amateur’s Bar ‘n Grill, Cambridge, NE.
