Rebecca S. Bletscher
Rebecca S. Bletscher, age 76, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away in her home on April 2, 2026. She was born on August 13, 1949 in Mc-Cook, Nebraska to Herb and Minnie (Hilker) Mohrman.
She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Nebraska on October 17, 1949. The youngest of 3 children, she grew up with 2 older brothers Phillip and Kenneth. She graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1967.
Becky grew up on the farm outside of Arapahoe, She enjoyed playing with her kittens with her niece Cindy. In her teen years she began working at the Derby Café.
In early 1970 she met the love of her life, Vern Bletscher. They married on March 11, 1971. To this marriage brought their two daughters Nancy and Becky.
She spent her time tending to her garden and other plants including her favorite African violets. She enjoyed helping her husband with various projects including woodworking. She had the kindest heart, even the stray cats knew they could find a friend in her. She loved to visit her local library looking for a good read.
She is survived by daughters Nancy (Kevin) Holliday of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Becky (Daniel) Goltz of Falls City, Nebraska, grandchildren: Shantel (DJ) Schmit, McKenzie (Diego) Holliday, Mandy, Angie and Michael Holliday, Bobbi Goltz, Tiffany Gruber, Angie Clary, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
In-laws Roger & Darla Bletscher, Neita Jo Ferron, niece Cindy (Larry) Francis, Travis (Sabrina) Francis and Tristan, Myna Francis, Nycole Mild. Cousins Rodney (Beverly) Hilker, Tracy (Roxie) Hilker, Jenny (Nick) Niemeier, Wayne (Cindy) Hilker, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Garey Funeral Home, 652 Main St., Arapahoe, Nebraska. Family and friend’s graveside services will be at Arapahoe Cemetery. Garey Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
