Tracy Kennicutt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tracy Kennicutt, who left us too soon on July 20, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on September 10, 1972, in Cambridge, Nebraska to Melvin and Paula Kennicutt.
He grew up in Arapahoe and attended Arapahoe Public School, where he graduated in 1990, Tracy started out farming for Ward Carpenter.
Then he went to work for Anderson Livestock, where he worked at their Overton location, then Bertrand and finally Arapahoe location for several years along with Grazers. Then moved to Oklahoma for a few years then returned to Arapahoe and spent time working at his father’s shop, Van’s. Then in 2018 he returned back to Oklahoma and found his new home there. Tracy worked at 4D Truck Washout in Sayre, Oklahoma, for Kenny and Jill. They became his family away from home that was able to guide him through his rough patches and them through theirs. He became a beloved and cherished member in their community and church. Always there to help whenever they needed. His passion for creating things lead to him starting his own business, crafting and selling smokers worldwide. Tracy’s work was not just a career, but a testament to his creativity and skill with his hands. Tracy will be remembered for his infectious grin and the captivating stories of his youth, which he shared with a sparkle in his eye.
His loyal companion, Taz, was never far from his side, reflecting the deep love Tracy had for his four-legged friend.
His hobbies included welding and creating, passions that reflected his innovative spirit and resourceful nature.
Tracy is preceded in death by his family members of brother-in-law Jeremy Eidson, grandparents Robert and Lula Kennicutt, and Lyman and Maxine Hilker.
Tracy will be missed by his 2 sons, Mathew and Justin, parents Melvin and Paula Kennicutt, brother Kory (with wife Lisa), Ryan Kennicutt, and sister Julie Eidson— and was adored by his numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10 AM at the Arapahoe Methodist Church, 705 5th Street, Arapahoe, Nebraska with George Probasco, officiating. Burial followed at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska.
