Arapahoe finishes Runner-Up at subdistricts, sends eight to finals

SHELBY - With a pair of individual champions, the Arapahoe wrestling team finished second at the Class D Subdistrict 1A Tournament at Shelby-Rising City Saturday.

Eight different Warriors wrestlers achieved the top four finish required to reach next weekend's District Championship, from which the top four will advance to the State Meet.

Levi Kerner (285) remained unbeaten, finishing first with just 18 seconds on the mat Saturday. Wyatt Jenkins also finished first place at 160 pounds.

Tristian White took second for Arapahoe at 145 pounds and Wayne Lee (113), Isaac Goshert (120) each finished third at the Subdistrict Tournament. Bryan Conn (126), Ashton Downey (138) and Jordan Smith (170) each took fourth place.

The Subdistrict 1A Tournament medalists will combine with those from Subdistrict 1B and advance to the District D-1 Tournament in Weeping Water next Saturday.
