BRAINARD - With a new postseason format for high school wrestling, the Cambridge wrestling team made the most of its weekend at the Class D Subdistrict 3B Tournament and advanced nine of their 12 wrestlers on to the district tournament. Wrestlers had to finish in the top four of their weight class at subdistricts to reach the district tournament, which is next Saturday at Central Valley High School in Greeley. The top four at the district meet will advance on to the State Meet.

Bobby Evans, who saw a bit of an exodus from his weight class, took first at 195 after wrestling just 33 seconds Saturday.

Jacob Corbett (145) took second place for the Trojans while Hunter Perks (132) and Adam Corbett (138) each finished third. Tye Stanton (152), Gabe Huntley (160), Wyatt Ervin (182), Julien Grindle (220) and Keithen Huntley (285) each kept their season alive with fourth-place finishes.

The Subdistrict 3B Tournament will be paired with the top four medalists from Friday's Subdistrict 3A Tournament, which featured 15 wrestlers from Southern Valley and Hi-Line advancing.
