Hi-Line’s Schmidt leads local teams at Med Valley Invite

CURTIS - Hi-Line’s Cade Schmidt fired a 91 to finish fifth and two others just missed a medal at the Medicine Valley Golf Invite Thursday in Curtis.

The Bulls finished eighth as a team with a 430 and Cambridge was ninth with a 511.

After Schmidt, Bulls teammate Zach Whittaker and Cambridge’s Brohdey Wood finished in a five-way tie for 16th place with a round of 105 each. They were each two strokes off a medal.

The Bulls’ Landen Schmidt and Judah Niemeier shot rounds of 116 and 118.

Southwest’s Gage Overton shot a 112 for the Roughriders and Colton Sedlacek added a 114. Treven Critchfield finished with a 131.

Cambridge’s Dylan Downer finished his round with a 114 and Brodie Mitchell added a 115 for the Trojans. Charlie Houser and Jacob Corbett shot rounds of 177 and 200.
