Southern Valley takes fourth, 10th at Bertrand Invite

Southern Valley track teams attended the Jerry Stine Invitational hosted by Bertrand HS on April 14.

The Eagles girls scored 60 points and finished in fourth place. The boys were 10th with 14 points. Both teams had their highest point total for the season.

Ann Bose was the lone gold medalist with her 5'2" effort in the high jump. Bose earned third place medals in the 300m hurdles and the 4x400 relay. Brianna Russell earned two silver medals. One in the high jump and the other as she ran a leg on 4x100 relay. Cierra Dringman was second in the pole vault with a PR and Top Ten effort of 9' and on the third place 4x400 relay. Krista Best and Brecklyn Hammond earned three medals at the meet.

Trevor Brown placed in both hurdle events with PRs in each race. Mitchel Wilson and Adan Thooft placed in two events.

The team had 18 PRs, two season best efforts and three Top Ten improvements. The girls placed in five field events and six of eight track events they were entered in. We are seeing improvement and hopefully the weather cooperates so we can get some good practices in.

300m Hurdles: Ann Bose. 3rd. 55.55

1600m run: Tayley Becker. 5th 6:22.38* 4x100: 2nd. 55.66. Liz Meyers, Brecklyn Hammond, Brianna Russell, Krista Best

4x400: 3rd. 4:54.84 Ann Bose, Tayley Becker, Lucretia Noel, Cierra Dringman
