Trojans’ Jones qualifies for State Golf Tournament

GRAND ISLAND - Cambridge’s Macy Jones finished eighth at the District C-4 Golf Tournament in Grand Island Tuesday to qualify individually for the Class C State Golf Tournament.
Jones shot a round of 91 to finish comfortably in a qualifying spot by four strokes.
The Trojans’ Chloe Besler shot a 101 and was six strokes back of qualifying while Jordyn Cross finished with a 127.
For Southwest, Kaylee Guerrero led the team with a 115 and Rachel Moore shot a round of 125. Alyssa Springer finished with a round of 131.
The Class C State Championships will be held at the Elks Country Club in Columbus on Monday and Tuesday with 18 holes each day.
