In many counties there was a bitter contest on where the county seat should be located. I remember my grandfather (John Davis) relating how in Harlan County the court house was to be built at Orleans, Nebraska. However, the residents of Alma desired that the county seat should be build there.

Oxford- The Oxford Chamber of Commerce recently recognized a relatively new business to Oxford. The White Barn Skincare and Waxing Studio opened last year, but owner Alicia Karash held an open house the second week in March when Chamber members welcomed her to town.
