Kara Brockman recently competed in the Western Regional Science Fair at NCTA- placing in the top 6 junior projects to qualify for State Science Fair. She recently competed in the Central Nebraska Science Fair held virtually @ UNK. She placed in top 3 junior projects and received a $100 cash prize. She also earned the following awards - Broadcast Master Nominee, Lemelson Early Inventor Prize - 1st place ($ioo cash prize), The Office of Naval Research (Navy & Marines), and The United States Air Force. She will compete virtually in the state Science fair in April.
ELWOOD, Nebraska (March 26, 2021) — The community is invited to roll up a sleeve and answer the call for patients in need by donating blood on April 26, 2021, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Blood donors are lifesaving heroes. At this special blood drive, they also have the chance to help high school seniors earn scholarships through the American Red Cross High School Scholarship Program.
Thursday, April 1: Turkey tetrazini, green beans, apple salad, pumpkin raisin bar. Friday, April 2: Salmon patty, hash brown casserole, California blend vegetabes, strawberry salad.
Opal Coakley had guests Friday afternoon and evening: Helen Blincow, a niece from Bertrand, Velma Loose, a niece from Holdrege, Nova Loose, and a great-niece from Oxford. They brought supper and gifts with them. Much visiting and even a trip to the quilt shop.
