Give Yourself a Fiber Boost

Dietary fiber helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk of heart disease. Fiber is important for proper bowel function. It helps reduce constipation and diverticulosis. Fibercontaining foods help provide a feeling of fullness with fewer calories.

Field Day enjoyed at Elwood school

The Annual Field Day for Kindergarten thru 6 grade was held on Friday, May 14 at Elwood Public School. Events included: long jump, a race to fill buckets with water squeezed from a sponge, obstacle course, softball throw, frisbee throw, and 100 yard dash. Following the Field Day the kids were treated to ice cream before being dismissed.

Central Platte NRD taking registrations for Range Management Tour

Body
(GRAND ISLAND, NE) - The Central Platte Natural Resources District and the Central Platte Range Alliance will host a Range Management Tour on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. The tour will include three sites in Gothenburg that have used tree cutting and prescribed fire as management and maintenance tools. There is no cost to attend.

We are open to inhouse meals and as long as our Gosper County numbers stay down we can remain open. We are following the guidelines that WCNAAA has suggested for our Center. Masks are optional. We will continue to do Home Delivery meals if you are homebound. We will do Pick-up on need base only. Please call the Senior Center at 785-2500 if you have questions, we will work it out. Saturday was Bingo at Sunshine Village with five residents present and the hostess Barb Osiecki. Stand up was won by Barb Osiecki and Black Out was won by Joyce Utterback.

The Arapahoe class of 2021 enjoyed their last day together as a class on Sunday waiting for the commencement ceremony to begin.
