Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) has been notified of a second animal that has tested positive for rabies in the nine-county health district. The positive rabies case was in a skunk in Furnas County.

As of this writing, the first week of June is gone. We are almost half way through 2021. Already! Where has the year gone? At least it has flown by for me. I guess that’s better than having the days drag by. Time goes fast for one when one has lots they want to get done.

Ronald Dean Leggott, age 71 of Doniphan, Nebraska, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. Francis CHI Hospital, Grand Island, Nebraska due to cardiac arrest. He was born on October 19, 1950 in Lexington, Nebraska to Sherle and Beth (Leggott) Leggott.

A Funeral Service for Gary E. Brown will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Wes Holen officiating. Interment will be held at the Oxford Cemetery, following service.

A Memorial Service for Alexander V. Geiselman will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Wes Hafner officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford.
