Aviation Art Contest Now Open for Ages 6 through 17

September 16, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Have you ever drawn a picture of an airplane, helicopter or hot air balloon and added some extra details? Maybe you mixed and matched, combining the best features of different types of aircraft to create something unique. What is your perfect aircraft? What would power it through the sky? Would it be big or small? What special features would make pilots and passengers excited to be in the air?

If you want to take your meal out, feel free to call the Center and we will be glad to visit about that with you. GOP to meet on Tuesday, September 28

The Red Willow County GOP will meet for their September meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Bedore Barn-Marlene’s Kitchen at 7:00 pm. All area Patriots are welcome to attend. Patriots will report on local/state meetings attended recently, including the legislative redistricting meeting in Grand Island. As a result of the 2020 census, there will be changes affecting Southwest Nebraska, District 44. The upcoming Governor’s forum will also be on the agenda. On Saturday, September 26, the GOP will be represented in the Heritage Parade to acquaint the community with our organization and invite all area blue rock shooters to the McCook Gun Club on Sunday, September 26, at 4:00 pm. There will be fun and food for all. It will be an opportunity to sign the petition to initiate voter ID in the state of Nebraska. For information on any of these events call or text 308-350-3155.

Remedy for Feral Cat Problem in beaver City in Sight

BEAVER CITY – The Beaver City Council held their regular meeting on September 20, 2021. Pam Daniel requested that the city council give her until December 1, 2021, to transfer the feral cats that are currently at 406 Q Street, a property owned by Moira Stubb. She shared that she has purchased property outside of town but that she will not close on it until October. The city council approved her request.

Edison, NE-Ag Valley Co-op is proud to provide a donation to local FFA Chapters through a partnership with Land O’Lakes Foundation and Co Bank. This year Ag Valley Co-op awarded 9 donations totaling $40,000 that were matched dollar-for-dollar by Land O’ Lakes Foundation and Co Bank to FFA chapters furthering their mission in producing the next generation of leaders. 10 years ago Residents from the area were in full force Sunday attending the Thrivent Financial Benefit in honor of Judy Metzger who is undergoing treatments for breast cancer. Over 350 people attended and highlight of the event included an auction of a steam bent cross made by Judy’s sister and husband, Sherry and Charlie Zeller.
