Adventure Packs at Beaver City Library

The Beaver City Library is offering adventure packs for check-out. There is a large display holding many backpacks in the library filled with the things to have fun and learn more. Each adventure pack has a theme with the items needed. There are many themes including safari, musical instruments and super heroes.

Pork Days September 25 and 26

Stamford’s 51 Pork Days will be on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday September 26 this year with the theme “Celebrating our Hometown Heroes”. Pork Days is sponsored by the Stamford Chamber of Commerce.

Oxford Library looks to start book club

The Oxford Public Library is looking for those interested in an adult book club. Books and genres read would be chosen by the book club members. The library director would lead the first meetings to get the club started until the group decides who should lead. The club would need to decide how often to meet and how to decide what books to read.

It’s September! The evenings are beginning to have the feel of fall but many of the afternoon temps in the 90’s are still reminding us that it is still summertime. For another couple of weeks anyway. Moisture on The Hill is still on the short side. We seem to come up on the light side of the showers that come through. The showers that we have had are making a difference in the grass in my yard. At least some of it is showing some green.
