MCCOOK - The Cambridge volleyball team reached its first Republican Plains Activities Conference Tournament Championship game since 2007 and finished runner-up in a hard-fought pair of matches Tuesday night at the Graff Events Center in McCook.

ARAPAHOE- It was another dominant performance for the Arapahoe Warriors as they took down the Southern Valley Eagles 52-26 in the regular-season finale last Thursday. It was slow going to start out for both teams as they traded possessions. Between the Warriors and Eagles, the first four possessions included two turnover on downs, a fumble, and an interception.

OVERTON - The Hi-Line volleyball team took down one victory, but dropped a match with eventual-champion Overton in the quarterfinals to finish their Fort Kearny Tournament 1-1. The Bulls took down Wilcox-Hildreth in the opener, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22 behind a balanced attack led by Carley Thompson and Ansley Williams.

SUMNER - The Southwest football team dropped a 62-6 contest at Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Friday night as the Roughriders fell to 1-6 on the season. The Mustangs jumped out to a 24-0 lead after a quarter and built a 47-0 edge before the Roughriders got on the board with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Nate Rippe to Kaden Day 41 seconds before halftime.

Monday evening at the first round of the RPAC Volleyball Tournament No. 1 seeded Alma hosted matches. The first meeting of the evening was a battle between fourth-seeded Southwest and fifth-seeded Southern Valley. The Roughriders took the match three sets to one with the scores reading 25-22, 25- 22, 21-25, and 25-17.

CAMBRIDGE - The Arapahoe and Cambridge volleyball teams opened the Republican Plains Activities Conference Tournament against each other Monday in Cambridge. The second-seeded Trojans (22-5) received a challenge from the seventh-seeded Warriors through parts of the first and third sets, but in the end, dominated the match with a 25-11, 25-4, 25-13 victory.
