Arapahoe Hires New Superintendent

ARAPAHOE – Earlier this month, the Arapahoe- Holbrook School Board hired a new superintendent for the 2022-2023 school year. Bob Drews, who is currently serving his 16 year as the high school principal in the Holdrege Public School District, will assume his new position as the chief administrator next summer.

Skimming device discovered at gas pumps in Arapahoe

ARAPAHOE - In late October, the Furnas County Sheriff's Office learned of skimming devices that had been covertly placed at two ga pumps at the Ag Valley Coop station in Arapahoe. Then, last week, news broke that similar devices had been discovered at fuel pumps in both Eustis and Gothenburg.
Invisible to customers, this skimming device was planted inside two gas pumps at the Ag Valley station in Arapahoe.

Fischer Leads Cattle Market Price Discovery and Transparency Bill

Fischer has long worked to facilitate price discovery and address the lack of transparency in the cattle market. The bipartisan compromise legislation includes a series of provisions to ensure every segment of the beef supply chain can succeed.

Daylight savings time has just ended and now everyone has had the chance to “fall back” to standard time. While many people enjoy that extra hour of sleep that comes each fall, 63 percent of Americans say that they would support the elimination of seasonal time changes and there are some health issues to consider. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine also supports this stance due to the sleep disruption that occurs related to this biannual change.
