Gov. Ricketts Seeks Applicants for State Emergency Response Commission

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts, along with Nebraska’s State Emergency Response Commission, announced they are seeking new members to fill several vacancies. Commissioners are charged with overseeing compliance with the requirements of Title III of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 and to include the appointment and oversight of Local Emergency Planning Committees.

2021 Farm Service Agency County Committee Elections Under Way

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will begin mailing ballots this week for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county and urban county committee elections to all eligible agricultural producers and private landowners across the country. Elections are occurring in certain Local Administrative Areas (LAA) for these committee members who make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally. To be counted, producers and landowners must return ballots to their local FSA county office or be postmarked by Dec. 6, 2021.

Anew Donated Toys to the Lions Christmas Project

The Cambridge Lions were honored to receive a large box of toys from the staff at Anew, which were purchased with proceeds from their recent customer appreciation day. These toys will be used by the Lions in our upcoming Christmas Project, where toys and food are provided to local families in need. Donation boxes for toys will be placed in businesses around Cambridge during November, so please consider making a donation of a new toy to brighten a child’s Christmas.

Cambridge Museum Christmas Tree Decorating Contest

Christmas Tree Decorating Contest will be held at the Cambridge Museum, 612 Penn Street, 1PM-5PM on Saturdays and Sundays, each weekend in November. Start decorating! Bring your own tree. We do have a limited number of extra trees. CHAMBER BUCKS PRIZES will be awarded for first, second, and third places! Tree decorating needs to be completed by December. If anyone wants to come to the museum to do their decorating on a weekday they can call Betty Kruger at 308-697-3515 to make arrangements.
