Benefit set for Kayla Hoard Sunday, Jan. 9

Kayla Hoard is a 15-year-old freshman at ARapahoe High School. Her family include her parents Tim and Jamie, sister Bethany, brothers Tracy and Ethen. On December 2nd, 2021 she was taken to the ER as she wasn’ts feeling very well. Doctors did some tests and they showed that her white cell count was extremely high and her blood platelets were very low. She was then rushed to omaha Children’s Hospital to the Hematology/Oncology departmet. Then at about 7:00 a.m. on December 3rd, doctors diagnosed Kayla with (AML) leukemia that is located within her bone marrow.

25 Years Ago December 26, 1996 Winners of the annual Chamber of Commerce Holiday House contest were Kay Kasson, Best All Around; Van Cozad, Religious; and the Beaver City Manor, Commercial. Southern Valley students at Beaver City, kindergarten through fourth grade, presented a program of Christmas music for residents at the Beaver City Manor, which was much enjoyed.
