The Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce put together a fun evening of shopping for the holiday with several businesses being open on Friday night entertaining specials, refreshments and giveaways. There was plenty to do and see as there were sleigh rides, caroling, a live nativitypetting zoo, tree lighting ceremony, Santa mingling, chamber bucks drawings, open houses with lots of snacks and bargains to be had.

Thelma Ann Sprague and Hilmer Lund of Denver were visitors of Jim and Ida Mae McBride on Saturday afternoon. The came especially for the funeral of Elfrieda Luhman. They stopped by again on Monday on their way home.

A good time was had by all that attended the Holbrook Ole Fashion Christmas celebration. There was hot chocolate, hot apple cider, cookies and popcorn. The Sweet Adelines sang Christmas carols, Mitch and Jessica Braun and family, made, painted, and have donated the snowman cut out to the Village of Holbrook. The Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department brought in Santa (Tyler Cobb). Juno Haley and Sarah helped the kids paint Christmas bulbs to take home and hang on their tree. Fifteen kids wrote letters to Santa and he will write them back. Mark Weatherwax and Kathy Cobb appreciate everyone involved.

Opal Coakley’s visitor on Friday was Karol Shafer, a former neighbor of yesteryear. Visiting and reminiscing was enjoyed.

Elwood Public School presented their Christmas Concert on November 30, 2021 in the school Gym. Directing the Preschool students was Preschool teacher Jami Garey. Music Teacher Nicole Nickell directed the students from Kindergarten thru High School. Accompanist for the Senior Choir was Kilah Deaver.
