PLEASANTON- The Cambridge boys basketball team battled in Pleasanton Holiday Tourney Monday and Tuesday and came away with a third-place finish. They begin Monday with a matchup against the host school, Pleasanton, and fell 59-44. It was a cold shooting night for the Trojans as they were just 31% from the field. PLEASANTON- On Monday and Tuesday evening the Cambridge girls basketball team went to Pleasanton to compete in their annual Holiday Tournament and came away with a second-place finish. In their first matchup of the tournament, they took on Pleasanton and won in gritty fashion, 30-22.

Southern Valley takes down Superior on the road

SUPERIOR - After letting a big first half lead slip away, the Southern Valley girls basketball team bounced back in the fourth quarter to post a 52-47 victory at Superior Friday. The Eagles surged out in front in the opening quarter, putting up 19 points and taking as big as a 12-point advantage before leading 19-10 to the second.

WILCOX - With a stingy defense, the Arapahoe girls basketball team traveled to Wilcox-Hildreth and escaped with a 37-32 win Thursday night. The Warriors controlled the first half, but couldn’t break free from the Falcons as they held the advantage in a low-scoring half, 17-9.

WILCOX - With scoring outbursts in the second and third quarters, the Arapahoe boys basketball team rolled to a 61-31 victory at Wilcox-Holdrege Thursday. The Warriors trailed 10-7 after a quarter, but the offense came to life in the second with a 20-point explosion, leaping the Warriors into a 27-17 lead at the half.

ARAPAHOE - The Arapahoe boys basketball team overcame a sluggish start with two strong quarters then held on down the stretch to take down Southwest Friday, 41-38. The Roughriders had the Warriors clamped down in the opening quarter, holding Arapahoe to two points while building a 10-2 lead through one.

ALMA - With consistent scoring throughout, the Southwest boys basketball team ran away with a 53-30 victory at Alma last week, controlling the contest until blowing it open in the fourth quarter. The Roughriders held the Cardinals in check all night and jumped to an 11-7 lead after a quarter before building a 25-15 lead at the half.
