Body BARTLEY - In a contest it trailed much of the night, the Southwest girls basketball team clamped down the visiting Southern Valley Eagles in the second half and came back for a 48-42 victory Tuesday. Southwest improved to 4-4 this season, while Southern Valley fell to 5-4.

Body CAMBRIDGE - With three individual champions, the Arapahoe wrestling team took third place at the Fran Jorgenson Invite in Cambridge Saturday. The Warriors edged Cambridge by 1.5 points for third place, 111-109.5, while Southwest finished 14th with 35 points.

Body Elwood High School recently had two students win first and second place in the Nebraska Game & Parks Kayak Kids essay writing contest. Delaney Collins, first place winner, will receive a sit-on-top kayak, paddle and life jacket.

Body Annual subscription rates to the Valley Voice newspaper will increase effective January 1, 2022. The increase will take the cost of in-state subscriptions from $36 for a 12 months to $45 and out-of-state subscriptions from $40 to $50.
