10 years ago New owners of the Derby Buffet, Ann and Bill Beins, held their grand opening celebration last Wednesday. The Beins have spent several months doing extensive remodeling and now open six days a week.

10 years ago An Ag Valley propane truck, was fully loaded, fell through the septic tank at Ken and Beth Houghtelling’s home southeast of Cambridge last Wednesday. Emergency personnel from Cambridge, Wilsonville, Bartley and Red Willow Western arrived on the scene from Cambridge, Wilsonville, Bartley, and Red Willow arrived on the scene as a precaution.

10 years ago The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office kept the magic of Christmas alive for several children in Gosper County this year by collected donations and gifts. The gifts were collected, wrapped and with the help of Santa’s elves 29 families receiving extra attention and 350 gifts were purchased.

10 years ago Sandra Cornett received the Merle Harpst Award for non-licensed employees from Mark Harpst from Laundry Services, and LPN winner Angela Cunningham from the Specialty Clinic. Indianola Knights of Columbus held their annual Free Throw Contest 9 year girls-Johanna Sughroue and Cayleigh McConville, Roxanna Carpenter and Kaylee Guerrero; 10 year old boys-Dylan Hoffman, Paul McConville, and John Stritt; and 11 year old girls-Kaitlynne Ellis; 12 year old boys-Blake Williams, Kaden Guerrero, Patrick Sughroue, and Wyatt McConville; and 12 year old girls-Isabella Ryan.
