The residents of Sunshine Village survived the snow storm with the help of three angels who cleaned off their cars, started them and moved them so the praking lot could be cleaned. The special ladies were Nancy Montano, Mary Wells and Trina Hector.

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall 2021 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.

With not a lot on the agenda the Holbrook Village Boards first meeting of the new year was brief. The board approved two resolutions concerning the recently demolished properties on Center Street.

ARAPAHOE – Lisa Anderson will serve a second term as board president and Brad Shultz will serve as vice-president for a second year. The elections were held during the Arapahoe-Holbrook school board meeting on January 10, 2022. The board also approved standing committee assignments as follows:

Gene and Joetta Glanzer went to Superior to watch their grandson, Luke Jameson play basketball. Krayton Haveman was a visitor of Dorothy Huxoll on Monday afternoon.

Dawson County Extension Board members recently elected officers for 2022 during their annual meeting. Phillip Burkhalter of Elwood was elected president and Eric Ryan of Overton, vice president.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors.
