The Furnas County 4-H Shooting Sports event was held Saturday May 14, 2022 at the Izaak Walton in Arapahoe with the following participating: Senior Trap-19; Junior Trap-27; Archery-24; .22-17; BB Gun-12; Air Rifle-4; Top Shot participates-10. Coaches: Cauy Bennett, Shannon Bennett, Ryan Hunt, Dan Kreutzer, Richard Potts, Jared Sayer, Vaughn Barnett, and Gary Schievelbein. Shot started at 10:00 with Pizza at noon and awards afterwards.

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees met for a short meeting on Monday, May 16, 2022 when they heard from Clerk Becky Calderone that the new memorial bench and tree program is getting some interest and two benches have been ordered.

Beaver City Looking into ARPA Funds Available for Rural Ambulances

BEAVER CITY – During the regular meeting on May 16, EMS Chief Terry Klein shared that LB 1014 ( a measure to appropriate federal funds allocated to the State of Nebraska pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021) was passed into law during the 2022 Legislative Session.

Rural carriers collect donations

Susan Rhynalds left the Oxford Post Office Monday morning, May 16, with her truck bed nearly full of food for the Oxford Food Pantry. The load was estimated to be at least 400 pounds of items. The donations were collected by Oxford’s rural carriers on Saturday for the Stamp Out Hunger event. Patrons on the routes leave non-perishable food and items out for the carriers to pick up while delivering mail.
