BEAVER CITY – The Beaver City Council met on August 15, 2022, for their regular board meeting and covered several agenda items during their almost two-hour meeting.

We’re successfully growing Nebraska and creating jobs here in the Good Life. Nebraska had the nation’s lowest average unemployment rate in 2020 and 2021, and we do again so far in 2022. In fact, we currently have the lowest unemployment rate in state history at 1.9%.

The annual wellness exam is one of my favorite things to do as a doctor. It’s a chance to talk about one of my passions: health promotion. As most patients expect, our health promotion discussion includes smoking cessation, diet, and exercise.

Every American deserves to feel safe in their community. Yet over the last few years, violent crime has spiked across the country. Defunding the police or taking resources away from our men and women in blue is never the answer.

The Indianola Alumni 1891–1969 met August 11, 2022 at St Catherine’s Church Hall, with a total of 46 attendees, including members, spouses, and guests traveling from several states to join us. We were sorry that an additional 5 expected attendees were ill this week and could not come.

The Village of Oxford discussed briefly a nuisance property during their meeting on Monday, August 15, 2022. The property has a house in disrepair.

Senator Dave Murman will be speaking and meeting with constituents in the Furnas and Harlan County area on Tuesday August 23. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
