ARAPAHOE – Bethany Foley was promoted to Lt Colonel in the USAF on July 29,2022 at the Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. Foley has served in the USAF since graduating from Baylor University in 2007 with a degree in Mathematics.

LINCOLN, NE (08/15/2022)-- Jennifer A. McConville of Indianola was among 626 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during a combined graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremony Aug. 13 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department’s Walk to Health program is offering the Stepping from a Distance Challenge starting Monday August 15th through September 12th. This free walking program is open to residents of all ages in the SWNPHD ninecounty health district.

Martha Louise Anderson, age 89, of Arapahoe, Nebraska went to her Heavenly home on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska. Viewing and visitation was held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 1 PM to 6 PM at Garey Funeral Chapel, 652 Main St., Arapahoe, Nebraska with family present from 3 PM till 5 PM. Rosary was recited on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 at 7 PM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Mass will be Thursday, August 18th, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Kenneth Wehrs, officiating. Burial will follow at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Service will be Livestreamed on Garey Funeral Home Arapahoe Facebook page for those who wish to attend but cannot.

Gradyn Andrews showed his cat in the Clover Kids portion of the Small Animal Show. Cat show participants were Gage Andrews, Grace Andrews and Reese Cuningham.

4-H Horse Show was held on July 23rd for Phelps and Gosper County 4-H’ers as a part of the Phelps County Fair. The Judge this year was Blaire Gibbens from Lincoln, Nebraska.
