100 Years Ago December 21, 1922 The Oxford Gun Club has leased a plot of ground from Gus Schroeder just west of the river bridge where their contests will be held. A new automatic trap has been received and their first shoot will be held Friday.

Ethel Watson administers the Oath of Office to returning Trustee Dale Long and to new Trustee, Harold McClintic at Monday evening’s Holbrook Village Board meeting. The Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Holbrook last Thursday afternoon until 6 p.m.

Alta Mae Groshong, age 91 of Cambridge passed away at her home on December 1, 2022. Mae was born in Long Island, KS on January 2, 1931, to Hugh and Mary (Hall) Rodenbaugh.

Lloyd Bennett “Bud” Keenportz age 85, formerly of McCook, NE passed away Thursday December 1, 2022 at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, NE. He was born September 18, 1937 in Dodge City, Kansas to Lloyd and Lena Keenportz.

George F. Sund, Jr., age 71, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born in Superior, NE on November 14, 1951, to George F. Sr. and Ruby (Kottmeyer) Sund. George attended Superior High School graduating in 1969. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, graduating with a minor in Criminal Justice and a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management.

Alfred H. Kuck, 91, of Smithfield, Nebraska passed away December 4, 2022 at Lexington Regional Health Center, Lexington.

Donald William Hermes, age 85, long time Oxford, Nebraska resident, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at his farmstead west of Oxford. Don was born on November 6, 1937, at Oxford, Nebraska to William A. and Emma D. (Weber) Hermes.
