12/3/22 The Eagle Gas Station reported a gas drive off. This was handled internally and the money was paid to the gas station by an Arapahoe resident.

The Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce has been busy giving Chamber Bucks to some lucky winners in the community. The four winners of the drawing for the $100 chamber bucks following the Merry and Bright evening were Brad Dack, Megan Helms, Mary Wells and Kat Barger.

(Grand Island, NE) - Five Natural Resources Districts (NRDs) were recently awarded grant funding for the “Partnering to Preserve Central Nebraska’s Core Grasslands” project sponsored by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation ( HYPERLINK “https://www.nfwf.org/” \\t “_blank” https://www.nfwf. org/). The partnering NRDs include Central Platte, Twin Platte, Tri-Basin, Middle Republican and Lower Loup.

Cambridge City Council met on Monday, December 19, 2022. Mayor David Gunderson was absent. Council approved the Consent Agenda items after discussing meeting minutes from the December 5, 2022 meeting.

Chadron State College’s combined undergraduate and graduate winter commencement exercises were canceled Dec. 16, due to heavy snowfall and high winds. The list of candidates includes summer graduates and consists of 71 names for master’s degrees and for 108 bachelor’s degrees.

LINCOLN, NE (12/19/2022)-- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,288 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 16 and 17 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The weather has been the main topic of conversation, as usual. The weatherman got the amount about right on the recent snow – from not much to hardly anything. The forecast for this week doesn’t promise much more, 3” max. But we would be happy with even a good ground cover. Those little wheat sprigs need a blanket for protection from the promised, and sure to come, frigid temps. Stay safe out there!
