Every year, The American Legion family nationwide commemorates the selfless acts of the Four Chaplains on or near Feb. 3, designated Four Chaplains Day by Congress in 1948. This year, Four Chaplains Sunday is Feb. 5.

January 30, 2023 I had distractions last week and news day slipped past me. Since my last column, we’ve had snow! Wonderful snow! That pretty much stayed on the fields! Here on The Hill, the best guess was about 9” with another couple inches a few days later.

Lincoln (January 20, 2023) – The Nebraska Veterans Council is sponsoring a Veterans Legislative Day for veterans to discuss proposed legislation with Governor Pillen and several State Senators. The Council is a coalition of recognized veterans service organizations which are banded together to serve as the “Voice of the Nebraska Veterans” The free event begins with registration at 8:00 a.m.

Elsianna Rodewald of Mccook, NE, was named to the Mississippi State University fall 2022 President’s List. Rodewald was among 4,174 students named to the fall 2022 President’s List.

Our Cambridge artists were honored for their beautiful artwork this last Wednesday at the RPAC Art Competition. Paytin Sickels (top photo) received the medal for her white charcoal drawing: “Tiger Lily” JoLie Farr received 1st Honorable Mention for her pencil drawing: “Untitled”.

CAMBRIDGE, NE – Tri Valley Health System is now offering Health Records on iPhone, which brings together hospitals, clinics and the existing Apple Health app to make it easy for patients to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose. The Health Records feature is part of the Health app, which also shows activity, heart rate, nutrition and other health data consolidated from iPhone, Apple Watch and HealthKit-enabled third-party apps.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has announced its fall 2022 dean’s list for students enrolled in nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and the allied health professions. To qualify for the dean’s list, nursing and the allied health students must be enrolled for 12 or more hours during the semester and have a grade point average of 3.75 or above.
