SOUTHERN VALLEY - The Southern Valley girls basketball team passed its first postseason test with flying colors Tuesday, rolling past Loomis, 51-23. The Eagles jumped all over the Wolves in the first half, grabbing a 21-1 lead after a quarter before taking a 39-4 lead to the break.

MAYWOOD - The Maywood-Hayes Center girls basketball team picked up its 20th win of the season and advanced to the championship game of the Subdistrict D1-11 Tournament with a 66-22 triumph over Hi-Line Tuesday.

CAMBRIDGE - Through two nights at the D2 subdistrict in Cambridge, a darkhorse has emerged. Fifth-seeded Wauneta-Palisade knocked off fourthseeded Medicine Valley, 54-51, on Monday, then bounced top-seeded Cambridge, 43-41, Tuesday to advance to the championship game Thursday against Dundy County-Stratton.
