Kelvin Miles Kemp, age 44, of Lincoln, NE passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024. Kelvin was born on March 14, 1980 in North Platte, NE to Gary and Jean (Snyder) Kemp. He grew up on the family ranch 10 miles north of Curtis and attended Medicine Valley High School graduating with the class of 1999. He went on to attend UNL receiving his BS ‘07 and Master of Professional Accountancy ‘09. Kelvin and Marissa Young were married on June 1, 2013 in York, NE. Kelvin owned his own CPA practice. His philosophy was “Accountants should be accessible, affordable & approachable to the small business person.”

Shawn grew up with his older sister Geraldine, two older brothers, Bob and Mike and one younger brother Ted. Shawn attended Lincoln Elementary, Byers Junior High and South High School in Denver, Colorado.

Plans being made for multi use court in Beaver City

Two sisters are working on a dream to bring a basketball court to the downtown area of Beaver City. Called Beaver Court it will be located where the Old Mason Lodge and Remarkable Store once stood. The building had been structurally unsound for some time and was demolished a few years ago.

Last year, Tri Valley Health System began working on expanding Cambridge's local farmer's market. Marketing Director Jolene Miller and Registered Dietician Tonya Koeppen decided this would fulfill the not-for-profit hospital's Community Health Needs Assessment.

Last weekend, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) liberated four hostages from captivity in Gaza in a high-risk daytime mission. Ahead of the raid, the IDF gathered intelligence on the hostages’ locations— Hamas had strategically placed them in two residential buildings surrounded by Gazan civilians.
