Elsianna Rodewald, of Mccook, NE, is among nearly 3,500 students graduating from Mississippi State University in spring 2024. Rodewald received the Master of Science from MSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation awarded nine individuals with the Nebraska Rural Radio Scholarship in honor of Max and Eric Brown. The scholarship is designed for individuals over the age of 25 who are committed to living in rural Nebraska and serving their communities.

LINCOLN - For the fifth consecutive year, the average all-land value of agricultural land in Nebraska increased, reaching $4,015 per acre in the 12-month period ending Feb. 1, 2024, according to the final report from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 2023-2024 Farm Real Estate Market Survey.

The Farnam Senior Center has reopened after a brief closure. The center lost their cook and has been closed for 2 1/2 weeks. Brenda Oberg has briefly come out of retirement to help out. She was the director and cook at the center for twenty years.

CURTIS - Two new local businesses have opened up shop in Curtis: The Body Shop and The Sewing Room. Stacey McCall opened The Body Shop this last spring.
