OVERTON - A rough third quarter proved costly Friday afternoon as Cambridge’s upset bid came up just short in a 40-32 loss at Overton. The Trojans, who fell to 4-3 on the season, saw the Eagles score 16-unanswered in the third quarter to push a three-point halftime lead to 37-18 headed to the fourth.

Arapahoe takes down Hi-Line in four

ARAPAHOE - Arapahoe captured a tight third set and used that momentum to close out visiting Hi-Line in four Friday, grabbing the Warriors’ eighth win of the season. Arapahoe improved to 8-13 while Hi-Line fell to 6-18 on the season.

SOUTHERN VALLEY With an offense that pushed the tempo, the Maywood-Hayes Center volleyball team captured a four-set victory at Southern Valley Thursday. The Wolves led throughout the first two sets, taking victories of 25-14 and 25-17 for a commanding lead in the match.

Alonzo “Lonnie” Floyd Quinn, 95 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Friday, October 11th, 2024, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Alonzo, the oldest of three children, was born on June 16th, 1929, to Floyd and Mary (Willey) Quinn in Oxford, Nebraska.
