AMHERST - The Southwest girls claimed another team title and the Southern Valley/Arapahoe girls were third at the 22-team Amherst Invite Saturday. Rylan Custard and Ambie Custard each took first and remained unbeaten for the Roughriders while Madelyn Tryon also earned an individual title.

ARAPAHOE - The Southern Valley wrestling team finished runner-up at the 14team Darrell Barnes Invite in Arapahoe. Cambridge was sixth, Hi-Line took 11th and Arapahoe was 12th in the team standings.

Wolves’ comeback falls short in title game MCCOOK - In one of the more entertaining girls basketball championship games the league has seen, East top-seeded Southwest outlasted West top seed Maywood-Hayes Center in the tournament championship Saturday, 61-57.
