Larry Dale Hardenbrook left his house in Beaver City, Nebraska on January 19, 2020. He was 78 years and had advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. We don’t know exactly what happened to him that cold winter’s night, but we are here to celebrate his LIFE!!

Jimmy Dean Rhinehart, age 75, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born in Elwood, Nebraska on May 21, 1950, Jim was the only child born to Donald Oliver and Berniece Adeline Rhinehart.

Laurette (Laurie) Lynn Poland, age 61, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Laurie was born on August 16, 1963, in Sargent, Nebraska, to Larry and Carol Poland.

Barbara Victoria “Vickie” Traver, age 67, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her home. She was born to Floyd Duane and Barbara Jean Breinig on July 18th, 1957, in Long Beach, California.

ARAPAHOE – The Arapahoe School Board held their regular meeting on July 14. The district will welcome several new teachers this year: Brandi Schutz (4th) grade, Carina Atterberry (6th grade), Lana Durbin (team teacher for 1st and 3rd grades), Deb McDonald (Special Ed) is returning, Mark Messner (5th and 6th grade band), Martha Bergquist (English), Ryan Pettis (Business).

Over the weekend some of the junior legion teams were in action with their area tournaments. In Cambridge/ Arapahoe Post 199 first game versus Loomis they lost 16-1.
