Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile Virus

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) was notified of mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) in the health district. The pool of mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus was reported in Red Willow County. There have not been any mosquitoes that tested positive for WNV in the district since 2023, so SWNPHD recommends residents take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.

Arapahoe City Council Approves utilities increase

ARAPAHOE - During the July 15 City Council meeting, members of the museum board addressed the council regarding the condition of the museum building and possible remedies for repair and upkeep. The council approved two building permits upon the recommendation of the planning commission for a gardening shed, and a fence and pool deck.

Sander sworn into oxford Village Board

Rocky Sander was sworn in as a new board member during the Oxford Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, July 14 at 5:30 pm. Sander will fill the remaining term of Chad Cunningham. Cunningham resigned from the board due to a move.
