Nebraska protects Republican Basin water users while fulfilling compact obligations

Through close collaboration with state and federal partners, the Republican Basin Planning Group successfully delivered water to meet Nebraska’s 2025 Republican River Compact obligations while significantly reducing the impact on surface water users. The water was delivered to the Kansas Account in Harlan County Lake ahead of the June 1, 2026 deadline.

Cambridge City Council met on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Council member Rhonda Cross was absent from the meeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meetings Act announcement, the council approved the Consent Agenda. The Consent Agenda included the approval of the minutes of the previous City Council meeting, the claims, the minutes from the Cambridge Rescue meeting, the minutes from the Museum Board meeting, as well as an SDL for the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department for the Medicine Creek Street Dance on June 20, 2026, and an SDL for Kahshoe Enterprises, LLC for a wedding on July 18, 2026.
