UNMC holds commencement ceremonies

Events were held in Omaha, Lincoln, Norfolk, Kearney and Scottsbluff Diplomas and certificates were conferred on more than 1,000 University of Nebraska Medical Center students during ceremonies held May 7 in Lincoln, Norfolk and Kearney and May 9 in Omaha and Scottsbluff. Harry Strunk Lake Health Notice

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) has been notifi ed of high levels of E. Coli at Harry Strunk Lake in Frontier County also known as Medicine Creek Reservoir. This means the water has a higher than usual number of bacteria, and residents should take extra care to not swallow any lake water.

Larry Gene Tiedje went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1945, in Holdrege, Nebraska, Larry was raised both in the community of Cambridge and on a small farm near Arapahoe.
