Southwest sweeps past Arapahoe

BARTLEY - The Southwest volleyball team took down visiting Arapahoe in straight sets Tuesday. Southwest rolled in the first as Arapahoe struggled on serve receive, but the Warriors battled early in sets two and three, only to see the Roughriders complete the 25- 7, 25-17, 25-12 sweep.

ALMA - Offense proved tough to come by Friday night for the Southern Valley football team at Alma. The Eagles managed just 107 yards in a 48-8 defeat to the Cardinals, falling to 1-4 this season.

Eagles take down Axtell, Wilcox-Hildreth; fall at Alma

The Southern Valley volleyball team won two of its three matches last week, taking both ends of a triangular with Wilcox-Hildreth and Axtell on Thursday before falling on the road at Alma Friday. The match with Axtell brought out the intensity Thursday as the Eagles prevailed 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Trojans fall to Hitchcock County

CAMBRIDGE - Coming off its first loss of the season, the Cambridge football team returned home Friday for another tough matchup against Hitchcock County. The Trojans had their opportunities to try and climb back from a 16-0 deficit, but couldn't quite reach the end zone.

Warriors roll to 5-0 with win at Elm Creek

ELM CREEK - The Arapahoe football team continued its recent surge of momentum with a dominant performance at Elm Creek Friday. The Warriors scored 22 points in the opening quarter and built a 35-6 lead at the half before finishing a 49-28 victory to improve to 5-0 this season.

Southwest finishes runner-up at Sutherland

SUTHERLAND - The Southwest volleyball team domin ated the first two rounds of the Sutherland Invite Saturday, then ran a bit short in the final to finish runner-up at its second-consecutive invite. The Roughriders breezed by Dundy County-Stratton in the opener with a 25-4, 25-14 win.
